Maintaining Physical and Mental Health – How to stay healthy, not only physically but mentally as well? What should we live? Is healthy food, exercise, yoga, jogging, running? Read on to learn about choosing the right action to maintain good physical and mental health.
Maintaining Physical and Mental Health
Health definition by WHO (World Health Organization) – ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social health and not just the absence of disease or weakness.’
So instead of aiming for a balanced diet or a balanced exercise or technique to balance your mind; We need to find a balance between these three factors for healthy living. Here are some tips to stay healthy physically and mentally, which I have tried and tested personally.
How to Stay Fit Physically
Diet – Try eating as many fruits and vegetables as possible. Fruits and vegetables provide enzymes to the body, which help absorb the nutrients from your food that is your main meal. Drink as much water as possible throughout the day. The water requirement is 1 liter per 45 pounds weight. Try to eat as many types of cereal as you can. Keep improving your diet plan by studying different healthy foods.
Exercising – Few people will exercise because of maintaining their health. Most people will do some exercise because of weight loss or other health problems. No matter what type of exercise you use, whether it’s just walking or jogging try to follow it regularly. The best exercises I think are swimming that are virtually free from injury, increase metabolism, help build lean muscle muscles, and increase flexibility.
Advanced Tip – If you suffer from some health conditions, that is as light as a common cold or something serious like a sports injury, then try to understand the underlying cause of health conditions and try to avoid the cause, rather than giving the pill to Treat health conditions. For example, to avoid cold loads with vitamin C-rich foods (Indian gooseberry, amla is one of the best sources of vitamin C). To prevent muscle pain or injury, make sure you do a good warm-up before exercising and stretch after exercise.
How to Keep Yourself Healthy Mentally?
Breathing – Deep breathing is not only good for your lungs, but it can also be used to calm your mind. Many meditations involve breathing as a technique. Just breathe your way through the stressful situation. I mean, take a deep breath in every time you stress, and breathe out. Repeat about 10 times.
Meditation – There are various meditation techniques. Instead of following a spiritual or religious person, try experimenting with different meditation techniques, and then whatever you feel is appropriate, try practicing the technique for an hour a day. Various techniques for meditation are tantra, yoga, Zen, vipassana, Tibetan, Buddha, etc.
Rest – This is something that everyone needs and should use to relieve stress. Whenever you think of something, you become too bored with your work, study, or responsibilities. Plan a small vacation alone or with friends or go to the garden and switch off your phone. Forget it all and enjoy watching the trees, birds, people, etc.
It will not always be possible to follow this tip daily or on a regular basis. So, try to eat as much as possible healthy food, get 20 minutes of minimal exercise, whether it’s just walking or taking stairs, and try to learn meditation and practice at least half an hour a day.
